Title of the thesis: Hunting effects on animal-plant interactions and recruitment patterns of palms in tropical forests

This study aims evaluate how hunting of animals affects seed dispersal and predation and what are the consequences for recruitment of four palm species (Astrocaryum aculeatissimum, Astrocaryum sciophilum (photo), Attalea humilis and Attalea maripa) throughout the tropical forests in French Guiana and Brazil. The expectation is that hunting should decrease seed dispersal and lead to increase in invertebrate seed predation, with negative consequences for palm demography.
