Abstract. When opportunities for networking, research and teaching overseas arise, our experience has shown that it would be wise to take them! MNHN has always been open to visits from foreign researchers and professors. Likewise, MNHN has always encouraged its own researchers to undertake missions abroad to broaden research horizons that may result in lasting collaborations. In this talk, we illustrate a case study of how MNHN catalyzed networking among scientists from different parts of the world during a 10-year period, which has yielded numerous research collaborations and outputs. We also present a unique opportunity for people interested in undertaking missions to Malaysia, a megadiverse country that still has vast potential for exciting scientific discoveries to be made.
